Red face

sorry to make a separate post about this, but I'm hoping all the work I've put into my website justifies it.

My initial reaction to MM7 so far is that I'm very surprised, but not in a good way. I'm sure all the figures will be as incredible as ever, but I just can't believe that it's basically a TCM'03 line. O.K., I understand there was a theme with MM6, and I wasn't pissed about that at all, cuz it was something new and different...but BECAUSE it was a themed line, I was REALLY looking forward to MM7 being a variety line, and it really isn't IMO.

I just don't understand what the hell happened. The majority of us here spend so much time defending McF for the decisions they make and then they do shit like this and I honestly begin to wonder if our input really does matter anymore. My point is - who in the hell asked for an entire TCM'03 line? All I've heard since MM6 is people BEGGING for a varied line-up agian, and it's like this is some big joke or something.

I'm guessing maybe with the two AvP lines, there might not have been enough funds for more characters...? Who knows, but I have the distinct feeling McF feels no need to justify this decision to fans. Ah well, hopefully next year will be better. I am definitely looking forward to ALL the figs in MM7, but I just wish they hadn't made it another themed line. I still love McF and the MM series, but I was really left scratching my head on this one

I'll get Robocop and Leatherface, along with the 12", that's for sure. I love the new Leatherface design, and I'm a Robocop fan. The others I have no interest in.

I think it's a shame that the staff was always saying MM7 would bring back the variety that previous lines had, and now we have this. Kind of weird if you ask me. Maybe a few licenses fell through?

Either way, I've gone from collecting MM lines in their entirety to buying 1 or 2 figures from each series, which is sad.

My take on the whole situation is one of hilarity, simply because we had tons of people on the white board yelling and moaning and laughing about there being a Dr. Loomis (Halloween) figure made this year, and how noone wants a figure of an old man, how it'll warm pegs, blah blah blah, and now we have McFarlane, the #1 toy company in most peoples' eyes, making a figure of this dude.

I'm thinking that TMP is going to try to milk what they can out of the TCM line so that they can put out a variety line for MM8. Makes sense from a business standpoint, as the rest of their lines should pull in a nice bit of change that they can turn around and use for the single or double fig licenses for another Maniac line. The ones they got for the year so far do cost quite a bit, so it does disappoint, but not suprise me.

Now until we see what the box set is, and if they add to the lineup at all, I refuse to make any more judgements until the final product is placed in the features section.

I still have to see the TCM 2ndary cast in figure form, but so far I'm getting the entire set now!

Robo's been a much wanted figure, Hicks will go great with anything Aliens, and the rest will be altered in some way shape or form. C'mon, Erin makes a good slasher victim for any psycho killer figure.

I'm disappointed as well since there is no mention of an ED-209 figure!
